...I totally wasn't waiting for someone else to upload their guide before me. :iconminghideplz:

So you wanna be a Mage at E-N but don't know what to wear?

Don't you fear, Robin [ :iconrobinseacrestplz: ] here will walk you through it--

:iconrobinseacrestplz::iconsaysplz: " Hmph... why do I have to speak to an audience... :iconswissplz: ... I suppose it can't be helped.... :iconthatsgreatplz:;;;"

:bulletblue:Believability

"I suppose the key to your clothing would be in how believable/realistic it looks, coupled with telltale signs that you are dressed to LOOK like a mage. It doesn't matter if it's fancy or plain, just look the part and ensure that you still have a means with which you can carry your weapon, if any. Shouldn't be much of a problem, though, given how most mages carry a staff or a tome or grimoire, just be careful you don't drop it."

:bulletblue: Robin rambles a bit more about clothes

"
*ahem* If you can't read my creator's handwriting in the picture above, I'll elaborate a bit more about the male mage's outfit, which should include a little of the do's and don'ts.

First thing's first. There's nothing wrong with the traditional mage look. You know, long robes + even longer capes... :iconswissplz: But I find it more preferable if you would consider your mobility, and the practicality of your outfit.

Having long robes mean you are in danger of tripping over them. Long capes pose the same hazard. If you want your capes long, be my guest. Otherwise, my advice is to make it shorter if your cape is supposed to have some kind of purpose. If it doesn't, it's best your don't wear them. Hoods are the same way. :iconlietplz: Truth be told, I find them troublesome and it constricts your scope of vision, but this is a personal preference I have which you might not, so wear them at your own risk.

Your top, or shirt should be of a lighter material... I don't have much to say in this department. Sleeve length, shirt style, whether you can wear an undershirt or not, how much embroidery you want to spend gold on for it, that is up to you.

With trousers, I believe loose trousers (but not too loose) are best, coupled with a good pair of boots. Again, this is a personal preference. If you find it easier to move in tighter trousers and dress shoes, be my guest. (You might get caught by the fashion police if your trousers clash with your shirt, though.)

Before I wrap this up, I do want to touch on one thing; armor. Mages can wear armor, I simply do not expect anyone to wear whole suits of armor and expect to be able to move around very quickly. :iconwthplz: Keep them light, perhaps enchanted breastplates with enchanted arm guards, maybe pauldrons, just... keep them light, alright? :iconwthewwplz:

Oh, and I do not want to see intricate sets of belts and zippers criss-crossed over your person with no feasible way of telling how you remove yourself if you get stuck anywhere. :iconwthplz:

That is all, thank you. - ^ -)"

:bulletblue: Robin would also like to remind you that the keywords to his 'Dress like a Mage 101' is;

Mobility, Comfort and Stay Stylish :icondivaplz:

Could I use this design for a character of mine? I won't copy+paste it, I'll add my own flair to it, but I love the basic outlining of it.
